b) Do you want to help with the Earth Week Clean Up? We are looking for people to become coordinators of a clean up in your neighbourhood this spring on Saturday, April 24 in the morning. You choose the nature site to be cleaned up and we provide you with gloves and bags to distribute to your volunteers on the day of the clean up and colourful posters for you to display throughout the neighbourhood before the event so everyone knows about it!

c) Volunteers can assist in making the public forums go smoothly (welcome table, information table, coffee and snacks preparation and serving, assisting the speaker, clean up).

d) We also are looking for volunteers who like talking to people on the telephone! We have the names and phone numbers of hundreds of people who have participated in our past events. We need to contact them by phone in order to update our lists, to invite them to upcoming events, to seek their e-mail address so that future communication can be ensured, and to encourage them to volunteer or support our organization with a donation so that we can do even more in the community.

THE DATE OF THE MEETING FOR VOLUNTEERS IS THURSDAY, MARCH 4, 2010 from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM IN THE PROGRAM ROOM ON THE SECOND FLOOR AT THE CENTRAL PUBLIC LIBRARY IN DOWNTOWN OAKVILLE.

PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY IN A VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENT; WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR CALL OR E-MAIL.

THANKS AGAIN!

For peace, ecology and human rights,
Stephen Dankowich, executive director
